I have got an oil painting done this week. The first in a while. I tried a little different approach this time, and I am quite happy with the result. For the next one, I will try to paint on a warm tinted background.
The first layer of oil on a 25x25cm canvas. I actually like it quite a lot just like this.
The second layer of oil. Here I added the swan, and I am trying to paint with as few brush strokes as possible.
Almost done. The only medium I used was a tiny bit of liquin original.
Done. Or I thought it was done, but when I see it on the screen like this, I am not totally happy with the big stone in the middle. I think I want to tweak the shadow part of it a little. But other than that, I am quite happy with how it turned out. This is definitely a very enjoyable way of painting. And like I said in the beginning, I will paint another version of this, but start on a tinted background to see how that will affect the result.
